Kargil Vijay Diwas at Kalpavruksha Bala Vidya Bhavan was a day of pride, respect, and gratitude as we remembered the bravery of our Indian soldiers. The school was decorated with the colors of the national flag, filling the atmosphere with patriotism.
The morning began with the children arriving in white, saffron, and green outfits, looking bright and eager. Teachers welcomed them with small paper flags, and the classrooms buzzed with excitement for the special activities planned.
The celebration started with a simple introduction to the meaning of Kargil Vijay Diwas. Teachers explained in age-appropriate words how our brave soldiers protected our country during the Kargil War, showing courage, unity, and love for the nation. The children listened carefully, some raising curious questions about the army, soldiers, and the mountains where the war took place.
A short video presentation with images of soldiers, the Indian flag, and the Himalayan mountains helped the children visualize the story. The feeling of pride was visible in their wide eyes and bright smiles.
To honor the day, the children sang patriotic songs like “Saare Jahan Se Achha” and “Vande Mataram,” filling the school with energy and emotion. Some children recited short poems about bravery and the Indian flag.
In the art and craft corner, they created tricolor handprints, paper flags, and small soldier cut-outs. Each creation was a heartfelt tribute to the heroes who keep our country safe.
A special moment came when the children stood together for a “Salute to the Soldiers” activity. Tiny hands raised in salute, with the national anthem playing in the background, made for a truly moving scene.
The day ended with group photographs and a sweet distribution, but more importantly, it left the children with an understanding of bravery, sacrifice, and love for their country.
